Just a great piece. Unfortunately you cannot see the detail, but when displayed at the trade shows, it has won wide acclaim. The instructions for this kit are very detailed, but it is not beyond the scope of an intermediate toler. The stones she is walking on are well shaped, and in a picture like this, as well as many of the Piecks, it is important that you create the effect of the main object actually "touching down" and not left floating. The dress has manificent folds, and the cottage creates the perfect background to a great tole picture.

An absolutely stunning piece. If you look closely you can see that the background has been "patched", from unused portions of the other prints, thereby blanking out the background, and being in a position to lift the shepherd and the dog as far from the background as desired, without ever seeing the background image.The technique is also used on the shepherd himself, and the dog.

Pansy

The pansies have always been popular. Flowers along with feathering kits lend themselves to be worked extensively with scissors. We carry a real nice surgical scissor ideal for tole that makes cutting a breeze for those of you who do not like working with a knife. A pansy like this was cut-out in less than 10 minutes by Carolyn in Alabama to our utter amazement. From that point on, (wink) we have carried the same brand of scissors that she uses.
